28 Weeks

How far along: 28 Weeks
Maternity clothes?  I think I’ve only worn one maternity shirt and no maternity pants.

Food cravings: None
Food aversions: None
Symptoms: I have been having a TON of charley horses this week. While driving, while sleeping, at work and at the park. Heart burn is coming a little when I lay down. Today at work I had contractions constantly from noon on and they are still continuing. This is going to be a long 12 weeks if I last that long. But overall I’m chugging along.
Gender: Girl
Movement: All day
What I'm looking forward to:  The she’s old enough to play with Blake
What I miss: Being able to sit forward

Saturday morning, Blake and I went to an APS event, Breakfast at the zoo. Unfortunately Blake was grumpy so it was challenge. The breakfast was buffet style so I had to juggle 2 full plates of food, Blake and push the stroller. Once we found a seat it went better. Blake enjoyed his food which gave me a break. After we ate we tried playing in the bounce house. Blake was scared right away and there wasn’t even anyone in it. I wasn’t allowed to go in with him so it lasted about 2 minutes. Blake ran around the zoo for a bit after. The zoo wasn’t open yet so it was nice to have the place to just the APS employees. Jeremy wasn’t able to join us, maybe next year. I’m allowed to bring up to 6 people so maybe next year we will bring a bunch of friends.

Next, Blake and I headed to Enchanted Island which is an amusement park for little kids. They were having a free Easter egg hunt so we decided to check it out. We arrived at 9 and the hunt didn’t start until 10. We waited in line for 30 minutes. Once it got close to 10 they let all the one year olds and one parent line up around a big square of field. There were eggs scattered all over inside the square. They counted down to 10 and then the kids could run out and grab eggs. Blake was so grouchy up until the egg hunt. It’s hard to wait in line for that long in the heat. Once he was able to run and get eggs he loved it. I wasn’t sure if he would know what to do but he did awesome! He ran right to the eggs and threw them in the basket and ran to the next. He was able to collect 16 eggs. He got upset once it was over though. They had a different field for each egg group so he saw all the other eggs and wanted to keep hunting. We headed out right after the hunt because it was super-hot and Blake was upset. Once we got home Blake took a nap until daddy came home. Jeremy ate lunch at work so I left once he came home to get lunch.

We had a hard time deciding what to do the rest of the day. I told Jeremy that I really wanted See’s Candy for Easter so we headed to the arrowhead mall. They recently remodeled the mall so it was exciting to see the outcome. It looks really nice! We headed to the play area first. Blake really liked it but there were a lot of older/taller kids that shouldn’t have been in the play area but were. It makes it hard for Blake to play with big kids running around and jumping off things. After 40 minutes we decided to go to Sees. Blake wasn’t very patient but we got candy! Jeremy picked out a ½ pound and I did the same. It’s a job in my family when my mom takes us to Sees she usually lets Jeremy and I get a pound of candy. The first time we did it I let Jeremy pick first and once he was done there was only room for 2 pieces for me and he had like 15 pieces. So from then on she always let us have ½ pound boxes. Jeremy got smart though because his candies are really heavy so his ½ pound box is always close to a pound. I reminded him we are paying this time so don’t fill your box. He still went over but he tried! J

While Blake was playing in the play area he kept stopping and looking at something on the higher level. Jeremy finally went and looked and said there is a little carousel up there. I told him that Blake loves those and how he went all the time in New York. Right before we left the mall Jeremy went upstairs and let Blake ride the carousel! He loved it! He is such a serious driver! :)

Easter was good. Blake was grouchy again. I don’t think he sleeps very well lately. His naps are getting really short and he is always awake when I wake up at 6. I hid Jeremy, Blake and Chloe’s baskets and Jeremy and Blake found them in the morning. I didn’t get them too much this year because I’m always tired after work and didn’t feel like taking Blake to the store. They did get candies and a few other things though.

We got ready for church. Blake’s really funny when you get his church clothes on. He thinks he looks so good! It cracks me up!

For Easter lunch we had scalloped potatoes and chicken stuffed with broccoli. Jeremy had to go out of town today for work so we didn’t want the stress of a huge meal and then a ton of left overs. It was very yummy! Costco did a great job making it and Jeremy did an awesome job heating it up! J We are becoming a huge fan of homemade food from Costco. I don’t have a lot of time since I work full time so heating up food works great and it’s yummy!

Jeremy got Blake a basketball hoop on Thursday so I made him hide it so we could give it to Blake for Easter. We played with it in the afternoon. It took a while to set up but it’s done now. Jeremy and Blake had fun playing with it together!

Later Blake and Jeremy did an Easter egg hunt. I threw a bunch of eggs around the backyard and Blake went and found them all and put them in his basket. It was funny watching him. He spent the following 20 minutes dumping out his basket and then putting them back in the basket.

This week was a little more stressful at work. I got put on a high priority and confidential audit case. There are three of us on the project and we have to exclusively work on it until it's done. We are working directly with one of the big four firms who I'm not very impressed with. I'm very surprised that a big four firm would produce incorrect information and not meet a single deadline. I'm doing really well on the project so that's really good but it's exhausting me. I'm having trouble figuring out how to work extra hours because Jeremy doesn't have any flexibility and the deadline is fast approaching. I think it might come down to me going to work at 4am for a week. That's my only solution so far.
I had a doctors appointment this week. It was the glucose test and the drink was so much worse this time. It was a different flavor so maybe that's why. My doctor has promised me I won't have another 9 pound baby so we are doing an ultrasound at 35 weeks and see how big the baby is. The size of the baby will determine when and how I will deliver.
