Trip to New York

New York:

Blake and I took a trip to New York to visit Grandma and Grandpa. We flew on Saturday. Blake did pretty good. The first flight he slept for the first hour and then played with toys and watched shows for the rest. We almost got him his own seat but someone on standby was able to snatch it. The second flight was pretty empty so he had his own seat but his sat on my lap for the most part. He didn’t like sitting on the plane when the plane wasn’t in motion. If we sat on the runway he got very upset. He loved looking out the window during take-off and landing. Just like his daddy. He was really excited when he saw grandma and grandpa.

Our first full day was Valentine’s Day. When we went downstairs my mom had all of our valentines lined up. Blake and I found ours and opened them! Next we went to breakfast at Panera. We went back to the house to try and give Blake a nap. He ended up not taking one because he was teething pretty badly. We decided to give it a shot and go to the Clifford birthday party. Parking was really hard to find but we ended up finding a spot. Since we were pretty late there wasn’t a line to see Clifford. As soon as Blake saw Clifford he started crying. It was kinda funny but sad. He was very nervous but he would go near him if I was holding him. I think he was just overtired. We tried doing the crafts but he wasn’t having it. They had puppet Clifford’s to color and a Clifford hat. He did enjoy the kids play area. He ran around and watched the other kids for a bit. We grabbed Moe’s for dinner per my request!

Monday we went to the mall to do some shopping. Blake enjoyed playing at the mall playground. There is a little carousel outside which Blake LOVED! We went home for Blake to take and nap and then we went Bowling. Blake had never been bowling before so I wasn’t sure if he would like it. He ended up loving it! He used the ramp and bumpers. He loved pushing the ball down the ramp and watching it roll down to the pins. Sometimes he even started running after the ball and we would have to grab him. On his last turn he got a spare and we were all cheering for him, he got so excited and starting dancing and clapping his hands!

Tuesday we went to Panera for lunch which Blake loved! He loves their mac and cheese but he gets super messy eating it. After we went to the mall and rented a moving an animal. Blake loved it! He was laughing and giggling the whole time! Blake went and played in the playground again. After we rented a mall patrol stroller and went shopping. Blake enjoyed it until he spilled one of our drinks all over him. Luckily I had brought a change of clothes for him so we were all good. We headed to Target to get popcorn but of course the food court was closed.

Wednesday was a big day for Blake. We went to Albany to see the Easter Bunny who Blake was scared of. He was fine to be around him but didn’t want to sit on his lap. Last year he was totally cool with it. They ended up having him sit on my knee and they cropped my body out. After he got to go Build a Bear and make a bear. He had fun picking out his bear. He really liked one of the dogs but I decided it was too big so we went with the football bear. The line was SO long! We were in there for at least an hour. Blake ran around the store playing with a cell phone for the bear. He loved watching the stuffing machine but when it was his turn to stuff his bear he got scared and cried. After we went to Dave and Busters. Blake was pretty tired but so he hung out in his stroller. He behaved well enough for us to get to have a little fun. Then we ate dinner at Dave and Busters. Blake was pretty tired so he was acting out a bit.

Thursday we went to circus circus for lunch and then the mall to play. Blake got to go on the carousel again. He loves it!

Friday we went to Clifton park to do a little shopping and then had lunch at Red Robin. On our way home we stopped at a kids play area. Blake and I played in the fort for a little bit but he was so tired we ended up going home so he could take a nap. When he woke up we took him right back. He had so much fun the second time. He was climbing everything and running around all on his own. While he was doing that with my parents, I had fun in the arcade. I ended up winning one of the jackpots. When I won I yelled for Blake to come over. Once I got his attention he ran over and looked at the machine spitting out all the tickets and yelled WOW!! It was so cute! It was fun to share the moment with him. He was sad when we had to leave to go home. I will have to look for a place similar to it in Phoenix. We grabbed Old Bryan Inn on our way home which is yummy turkey dinner.

Saturday Blake and I headed back to Phoenix. We didn’t fly out until 4 so we had some time in the morning to have fun. Blake played with the remote control car with my dad while I finished packing all our stuff up. He took and nap. After we headed to a bookstore downtown Saratoga Springs. They were having a fundraiser event which included face painting, crafts and visits with Elmo. Blake had his first face painting but on his hand. The lady drew a Clifford dog. Blake made a hat and then saw Elmo. He didn’t cry but he wasn’t over thrilled to see him. He has a stuffed Elmo in his bed which he likes so I think that helped. Later, Blake found a small stuffed Elmo and he grabbed it and started running away. I instantly realized what he was doing. He brought the small Elmo to the big Elmo! It was so cute!!!

Plane ride home. Blake was pretty bad on the first flight. We had our own row but he just wouldn’t sit still. The second flight he was pretty good. He didn’t fall asleep at first which scared me. He stayed awake for the first hour but then fell asleep. He was fast asleep. I kept having to move him around and he didn’t wake up once. We finally made it to Phoenix. Blake was excited to see Jeremy. I put him down in the baggage area and he saw him and ran to him.

Here are some general pictures of Blake having fun at Grandma and Grandpas.
