Week 47

 Week 47

This was a busy week but a fun week! Thanksgiving was on Thursday and it started with watching the Thanksgiving Parade. I grew up watching it everything Thanksgiving morning. We typically watch a little bit but not the entire parade. Kylie watched it with me the most. We decided to do something a little different this year. We decided to go to the zoo on Thanksgiving. We went to the Wildlife Zoo and Aquarium. It was very big! We went to the bird feeding which was cool! You hold an apple chunk in your hand and the birds come to you. Kylie loved it, Blake was nervous at first but came around, Jeremy had four birds at one point and I took pictures and helped the kids. Kylie loved the petting zoo and Blake wanted nothing to do with it. We decided to head over to the sea lion show which was really fun! Kylie had tantrum because she had to sit next to her dad but got over it before the show started.

We went through the aquarium after the show and then head back to the zoo section. We stopped by a cafe to grab food but it was cash only and we didn't have cash so we decided to head to another one. The next cafe was closed and at this point we were all starving and getting hangry. We continued on to another cafe on the map and looked at the animals on the way. We made it all the way to the very back of the zoo and discovered that the cafe was closed as well. We let the kids ride on the rollercoaster and then headed to the next cafe. At this point we knew everything must be closed except the one due to the holiday but didn't want to walk all the way back to the front and then walk all the way back around the zoo. We decided to continue on while heading to the front cafe. We made it to the cafe and the kids and I were happy to see food. I was being dramatic but Blake really thought we weren't going to make it. haha! We had to get money from the ATM to buy the food and Blake told me to take a picture of the ATM because it saved our lives. It was really funny. We now know that we will bring food next time we go to the zoo even though the rules say you can't. :)

We went home and Jeremy heated up a Costco Thanksgiving dinner kit. It turned out really good and was perfect for our family.

Friday morning, Jeremy went Black Friday shopping. I do all my Black Friday shopping online but Jeremy prefers to go to the store. He picked up a good amount of stuff including a new TV. We spent most of the rest of the day putting up the TV. Friday night we went to a neighbor's house to see Santa and get hot chocolate. We ended the night by watching the Grinch on our new TV.

Saturday morning we climbed the Verrado stairs. Jeremy brought Chloe but we found out dogs aren't allowed. The kids were very sad and Kylie kept trying to convince me it was ok if Chloe goes. Blake loved going up and down the stairs and would go so fast so he would win the race. Kylie didn't want to go up the stairs with anyone but her dad. It was really cute.

After the hike we went home and I painted Kylies room. Jeremy and I went round and round about whether we should leave the prior paint design or paint it the same color as the rest of the house. Kylie didn't seem to care either way but he current room decor didn't match the previous paint colors so we decided to paint it. I painted about a fourth of the room before I realized the color was completely the wrong shade but decided I was too far into it to change it. Then I realized Jeremy had bought an exterior paint and after doing some research decided to needed to repaint the room. When Jeremy came back with the new paint we tried it out and it was the correct color. We have no idea if the color was different because it was exterior or if they gave us the wrong color. Either way, I'm glad we figured it out. It was a huge project and I don't think I will suggest painting a room again. :) It turned out so good though and I can officially say I painted a room twice almost by myself.

Week 46

 Week 46

On Tuesday, Blake lost a tooth at school! He was so excited for the tooth fairy to come. At evening I took the kids out to the park. We have been loving having so many parks walking distance from our house! The downside is Kylie always gets mad when we say it's time to go. After, the kids and I picked up pizza for dinner.

On Thursday, both kids had really loose teeth. I'm always the one to pull the loose teeth so I was working on Blakes and it came out pretty quick. Kylie really wanted her tooth to come out too. I told her to eat and apple and it actually worked. It became loose enough that I was able to pull it right out. Daddy wasn't home since he had to work late so we facetimed him and shared the special moment. This was Kylie's first tooth except for the two teeth that were knocked out when she was 1.

Friday night, Jeremy had a work holiday party. Since we don't have any babysitters, he went by himself. His parties are always a little weird so I honestly don't mind not going. :) This is how we attended the party....

The kids and I grabbed ice cream! It has been one of our favorite things to do.

Saturday was the neighborhood garage sale! I was determined that I was going to be able to find Christmas presents for the kids or furniture for the house. I had everyone up and in the car by 7am and Jeremy started driving around. We literally drove around for 3 hours and I only found an American girl tent. It was a pretty sweet find but I was really hoping for a Barbie House. Jeremy did find a few tool deals.

I ended up having a massive migraine for most of the rest of the day but Jeremy convinced me to go on a scooter ride with them. It was super fun to go on a neighborhood path and saw all the Christmas lights. We scootered to Culvers for ice cream. It was a fun trip and the kids loved it!
