Week 2 2022

 Week 2

On Monday, the kids' school had a field trip. It was something related to animals. The kids were able to see a few animals and I let them pick an animal that they wanted a picture with. Kylie picked the alligator and Blake picked the bearded dragon.

Tuesday night, Blake broke my heart. Jeremy was telling him to go to bed and Blake started crying. He asked what was wrong and he said he just wants to give mommy a hug. I told him that I want to give him a hug but I'm not because I love him. He understands but it doesn't make it any easier. The kids counted down the days till they could give me a hug.

Before I got sick, Blake and I finally found a set of chapter books that he really likes to read. We would read 60 plus pages a night together. It was the first time ever that he would actually ask me if he can read books. I was so proud of him that he continued to read the books while I was sick. On Thursday, I surprised him with an Amazon package full of new books. He was so excited!

Saturday morning, Kylie and I went to Disney on Ice! I purchased us tickets months ago and have always wanted to go. I couldn't decide if Blake would like it so we decided Kylie and I would try it out and next time we could bring Blake if he was interested. We had so much fun together! Kylie picked out a light up wand to start. We went to check out our seats and then scoped out the treats. There were some really cool snacks. We decided on a mickey popcorn bucket and a drink. We went back to our seats and the show started! Kylie loved it!

We met up with Jeremy and Blake after for lunch/dinner. Kylie picked Red Robin because she wanted a balloon. Sadly, there were no balloons. :) We all really like Red Robin so it was fun! The kids love the mini corn dogs and oranges. After, Jeremy and Blake went for a hike and Kylie and I went shopping for dresses for Kylie. It was fun to just focus on her and see what she picked out. She always tries to sneak in a toy but I held strong to dresses only. :)

Week 1 2022

 Week 1

Monday morning, we scheduled covid tests for the family. The only thing we could find was a PCR test which we wouldn't receive the results for 2-3 days. I ordered tons of rapid at home tests, but they weren't scheduled to arrive for a few weeks. At this point Jeremy was the only one that was showing any symptoms.

Wednesday afternoon, we received the PCR test results and they were all negative. This was really confusing because Jeremy had already received a positive and he was clearly sick with covid. Our at home tests happened to be delivered Wednesday afternoon as well. I tested everyone and Jeremy and I tested positive. At this point, I didn't have any symptoms except being extremely tired. We called the school and we determined the kids would need to continue staying home until the following Monday if Jeremy and I isolated from them and they tested negative.

Thursday morning, I woke up with an extremely high fever, sore throat, runny nose, and headache. I took Tylenol and was able to get the fever under control. Jeremy's biggest symptom was a cough and congestion. We both had a huge lack of energy. We have never felt as tired before as we did during the next 10 days.

Thursday night, Jeremy made us a fire in the backyard and we all spaced out and sat around the fire.

The kids did really good taking care of themselves and entertaining each other. Kylie had a few moments but honestly I'm so proud of how well she handled it all. Jeremy was able to be around them with a mask on Saturday which really helped. I was still pretty sick so I isolated most of the weekend.

The kids continued to test negative and were able to go back to school on Monday. They were both really excited and it was really good for them to get back into a normal routine and stop watching TV all day.

Week 52

 Week 52

This was the second week of the kids Christmas break. One thing Jeremy and I gifted ourselves for Christmas was landscapers. I feel like we have very limited family time each night and on weekends because we have so much to get done that we decided to try out landscapers for the new house. Jeremy was super excited that they came for the first time on Monday. The yard looked awesome after they were done. Monday night Jeremy and I were able to go on a date. We never get to go on a date so this was a special occasion. Jeremy's parents were able to come into town to watch the kids while Jeremy and I went to a Suns game. I was gifted tickets from my work which were awesome tickets. The tickets included access to the club so we arrived a little early so we could take advantage of the free food and drinks. We sat by the fire and ate dinner. We walked around and Jeremy bought me a Suns sweater! We had a joke about the parking prices so Jeremy promised that if we parked farther away he would spend the difference on a shirt. The game was awesome! Sadly they didn't win but they came back at the end and were winning with 5 second left and then the other team scored and won. I had a ton of fun and got really into it. I have no idea why I love sports so much but it's so much fun cheering them on.

The next few days we spent with Jeremy's parents. They went on scooter rides, walked the Victory stairs, drove around the neighborhood looking at lights, went to tons of parks, went to Uptown Jungle, and ended with the World of Illumination drive thru Christmas lights. The kids LOVED having them visit.

Thursday, Jeremy and the kids headed to Duck Creek, Utah for the weekend. They decided to join his parents at the cabin to have fun in the snow. I'm not a huge fan of the snow and I really wanted to get more settled into the new house before kicking off the new year. They had tons of fun at the cabin. They went sledding, shoveled snow, Kylie spent hours coloring with grandma in a tent, and they did fireworks on New Year's Eve. I was really productive at home. I decided to make freezer meals which I quickly regretted but I know I will appreciate them over the next few months.

Jeremy came home Sunday evening and was coughing so I had him take a COVID test. It came back positive.
