Houston

We left Phoenix on Friday night around 6pm but didn’t arrive in Houston until 11pm.  When we got to the Phoenix airport we headed to the gate and Jeremy took Blake for a walk around the terminal. He found a play area for kids so we headed over there and grabbed dinner while Blake played. We got chicken nuggets for Blake. He would come to us to grab a chicken nugget and then run to the play area. We headed back to our gate and Blake started getting fussy. Everyone was staring at us and we said to each other “this is going to be horrible.” We got on the plane and Blake continued to be fussy so naturally no one wanted to sit by us. At the last second someone had to sit next to us. Blake started settling down when we started moving. He enjoyed looking out the window. He ended up falling asleep during takeoff while looking out the window. My arms were killing me but he slept until the last 30 minutes which he just laid there and looked around. The lady that ended up sitting next to us talked to us almost the whole plane ride. It was a little overwhelming because we were trying to sleep but she was really nice. Josh picked us up from the airport and we went to their house and went to bed. Blake had trouble falling asleep and we shared a room with him so we didn’t sleep much at all that night.

Saturday we went to downtown Houston and walked around. We ended up finding a new park, I think. We tried to fly Oliva’s kite but there wasn’t enough wind. Josh and Jeremy did end up getting it up for a little bit though. Blake also went on the swings. After, we went to the Galleria mall. It was a huge mall. We picked up Goodies BBQ for dinner and had homemade Pecan Pie while watching Shark Tank.

Sunday we spent some time in Galveston before we went to the cruise ship. We stopped at Buckie’s (a popular gas station in Texas) and picked up a few snacks. Once we were in Galveston we walked by Pleasure Pier and then the beach. We bought a kite and flew it on the beach for Olivia. Josh and Jeremy did an awesome job! After we walked around the downtown area and got a few candies at the candy shop. Then we headed to the cruise!
