Week 27 2022

 Week 27

Monday was the 4th of July and we headed to Salt Lake City. We stopped in Beaver at the Creamery. The kids loved playing in the kid's area. We grabbed a little lunch which was pretty good.

We arrived at our hotel Downtown and then went for a walk to City Creek Mall. We found Chick fil a. We did some window shopping and then headed over to Temple Square. It's all under construction but we showed the kids where Jeremy proposed which is currently all dug up. Kylie loved all the pretty flowers and trees.

We stayed up late to watch for fireworks outside our hotel window. It was fun to see all the different firework shows from all the cities. At one point we could see at least 5 different shows in the distance.

Tuesday morning, we headed to Rexburg, Idaho. We stopped at a giant Army Surplus store on our way. We used to go all the time when we lived in Idaho, so it was to walk around again. We mostly got candy. Next, we drove through Pocatello to show the kids where we lived for a year. We stopped in Idaho Falls for a quick charge which ended up going for a walk to the Snake River and found a really cute shop.

We headed to Rexburg for the night. We walked around BYU-Idaho campus and showed the kids the main buildings we went to class at and then hit up the bookstore. The kids each picked out a shirt and then of course found themselves a craft. We also went to the Rexburg Temple, showed the kids where Jeremy and I met, showed the kids where Jeremy broke my nose :), and then took them to Pizza Pie Cafe! We LOVED Pizza Pie Cafe when we lived there so it was fun to go again and bring them. At first the kids weren't excited but after they saw the dessert pizza, they loved it! Kylie talked about it for days. We went back to the hotel, went swimming and called it a night.

Wednesday was such a fun day! We started the day early at Bear World! We did the drive-thru twice! It was different each time. I could have gone through again, but Jeremy said no. The kids loved all the rides, petting zoo, butterfly exhibit, and the baby bears.

After Bear World, we headed to Great Falls, Montana. The kids were so excited to go to the hotel pool since it had a water slide. Jeremy checked in and came back to the car and handed me a paper that said the waterslide was only open on the weekend. Kylie cried really hard, but we finally got over it. The kids still had tons of fun in the pool. The convinced me to get in the pool at the end and we did races across the pool.

On Thursday, we drove to Okotoks, Alberta. The drive felt forever! Jeremy had so much fun showing the kids all over the town. We went to Big Rock, his old house, his school, Safeway, and a waterfall. The kids really enjoyed it.

Friday morning, we got up SUPER early and headed to the C-Train to go to Calgary. We were able to find a little spot near the front of the Stampede Parade route to sit down. Kylie and Jeremy went for a walk while Blake and I reserved the space. After 30 minutes, Jeremy called me and said he was able to get VIP seats for him and Kylie. I thought he was joking at first because I tried to get him to buy tickets the prior night, but he said no. Turns out, he was gifted 2 VIP tickets. They had a hot breakfast and had front row seats for the parade. Blake and I stayed in our spot and had fun watching the parade together.

We met up after the Parade and walked around the downtown area. We had lunch and the kids played on the playground. We got stuck on the C-Train for a very long time going back to the car. Thankfully we had the kids tablets to help entertain them while the train was stuck.

We spent the rest of the night having dinner and then hanging out at the pool. It was a fun and relaxing night.

On Saturday, we went to the Calgary Stampede. We went to the dog show, met Chase from Paw Patrol, went to the Rodeo, went on a few rides, and went to the mini donuts shop. Jeremy worked at the mini donut shop as a teenager.

Sunday was a long day of driving. We went to Banff and Lake Louise. We walked around Banff for a while. It was fun walking through all the shops. We went on a hike to a waterfall which was really fun. Overall, Banff was REALLY pretty, and we would love to go back and stay for a few nights. Lake Louise was packed so Jeremy dropped the kids and I off to go and take a picture.

After, we headed to Edmonton, Alberta. It was a full day of driving but lots of fun!
