Day 5 Carnival Panorama Cruise

Cruise – Day 5 (3/11/2020)

Day 5 was our first port day at Puerto Vallarta! The kids were so excited to get off the boat and see the beach! We started with having breakfast at the lido deck. The kids LOVED looking out the window at the city.

When we got off the boat, we got on a shuttle that took us out of the gate area. We then found a taxi that took us to the downtown area. The kids loved the shuttle ride and the taxi.

We went for a walk along the beach and the kids loved looking at the rock sculptures and the different statues. We all had watermelon sticks for a snack. It was very hot so it was a fun treat.

We headed back to the cruise port to go on our excursion to the dolphins. We took a 30-minute bus ride to the dolphin location.

The first part was having a sea lion kiss you on the cheek. They asked for a volunteer to go first and Kylie jumped right up. It was really cute! Sadly, we don’t have a picture as they cost an arm and a leg. After everyone in the group had a chance to get a picture, we headed over to the water area. We put our life jackets on and then split up in groups to interact with the dolphins. They had baby dolphins that were just swimming around and 6-8 larger dolphins. Each group pet the dolphin, kissed the dolphin, danced with the dolphin, and watched the dolphin do tricks. It was a fun experience. Since the kids were little Jeremy and I each held one and did each of the activities with them. We did purchase a few pictures so the kids would always remember. Kylie probably enjoyed the dolphins the most! Blake was a little unsure but said he didn’t like kissing the dolphin. 😊

After playing with the dolphins we got changed and had lunch at the café. While we were eating, we saw an iguana near our table. The kids thought it was so cool so we took a quick picture. We got on the bus and headed back to the boat.

There was a dance party right outside the boat so we had fun dancing while we waited to get back on. Kylie was in one of her moods all day where she didn’t want Blake to touch her. So if I asked them to take a picture and he put his arm around her, then she would freak out and push him away. It was funny looking at the pictures and reliving the memory since it happens quite often. Usually at the end she will finally give in and take one nice picture.

We went back to our rooms and took the kids to Camp Ocean. When Jeremy dropped them off he found out that we can sign them up to go to dinner with the Camp. This was a game changer for the trip. This allowed Jeremy and I to have a nice dinner together each night without having to worry about them breaking something or having a tantrum. The kids weren’t a huge fan of it but I know they had fun.

Jeremy and I went to the Hasbro game show after dinner which was really fun! We picked the kids up at 9pm and had a late-night snack. It was probably one of the best nights of the trip. We sat at the lido deck as a family and just ate dessert and pizza and talked. We learned that Kylie has a boyfriend named Christian. It was a night filled with laughter which was something that was much needed.
