Week 23

 Week 23

This week was mostly filled with preparing for Kylie's birthday party. Work was very busy for both Jeremy and I so it was a busy week. The kids had swim lessons during the week since Kylie's party was on Saturday. We are doing two or three lessons a week and the kids seem to really like it. Recently they have been making the kids do the beginning of the lesson with no googles and neither one likes jumping in or swimming without googles. I was telling Blake a story about how we used to have him in swim lessons when he was two but he wouldn't put his head in the water without screaming so we decided to stop the lessons. Once we tried googles and found good ones then he was so much better with putting his head in.

Kylie jumped in the pool without holding the teachers hand! It was such a proud moment for me and her. I don't know what happened but this became a huge fear for her and she finally decided she could do it. She has no confidence in her swimming so it's making it harder but I think doing more lessons a week will really help her get more practice which will help her be more confident.

Kylie's school had a water day and a foam party. Kylie was so excited about it and the pictures looked so fun! She was telling me stories about how she was chasing her friends and they were throwing foam at each other. She added in that she wasn't running fast just running slow since she's not allowed to run. :)

Friday night was spent running around grabbing the last minute items for Kylie's party. I started with going to Party City to grab balloons. Just my luck they were out of paw patrol balloons so I ran down the street to the dollar tree and they ended up having some! We then ran back to party city to get regular colored balloons. Kylie begged for balloons so I couldn't come home with no balloons. Jeremy and I put the kids to bed and then created an assembly line and made awesome fruit cups.

Kylie's Birthday Party was on Saturday!! I was so excited for her party. We decided to have her party at Enchanted Islands which is a kids amusement park near us. Kylie loves going on all the rides and her favorite is the dragon rollercoaster. The party started at 9:30am and we were able to come and set up at 9am. The kids were awesome and helped Jeremy and I take trips to the car to grab everything. The kids were awesome at helping Jeremy and I get the tables all ready. It was a rush but we were able to get it all set up just in time for a few of Kylies friends.

We started the party with donuts, fresh fruit, and blue Gatorade. I thought it would be fun to serve Kylie's favorite foods. After the kids finished eating they started to venture off to the rides. I picked the party area that was in the middle of most of the rides so you can see them without having to leave the party area. Kylies school friends mostly stuck together and went on the rides together. Blake was so excited when I told him that we have a friend his age coming and they had fun going on the rides together.

After a few rides, Kylie and her friend decided to go to the splash pad. It was a very hot day (109 degrees) so it was a good time to cool down a bit. After a little while I convinced her to get out and go on a few more rides. She wanted to go find the boys and go on the parachute ride with them. They weren't tall enough to go alone so we had all her school friends and parents on the parachute ride together. It was so much fun! It was so cute to see them all interact and have their own conversations. We ended with going on the train.

At this point it was getting really hot and time had been flying by. We gathered everyone together and did cake and then presents. Kylie was so excited about her green paw patrol cake. She is obsessed with Rocky so I had the bakery change up the cake to make it more green and then a added rocky and chase cars to the top of the cake. Next was presents which Kylie was SO excited about. She received so many awesome presents from everyone. I was amazed at everyone's generosity. I am so excited about how well her party turned out. We had so many friends that we haven't seen in awhile come and support Kylie as well as some of her best friends from school. It was so fun to have it at a venue where I was able to relax more and be part of the party. I was able to go on rides with Kylie and enjoy the moment. At the end of the party we made a deal with the kids that if they helped us clean up then we could bring everything to the car and then go on a few rides together. They were awesome and helped us take a few trips. Blake had developed a pretty bad blister on his heals by this point so he was a really big champ.

As we were cleaning up one of our friends arrived late to the party and we were all able to hang out and go on rides together. It was really fun to connect again and enjoy the rides. I think Kylie and I like the parachute ride the best! We ended with all going on the train ride and then had to leave because the venue shuts down mid-day because of the heat.

I made Kylie a little video to remember her birthday party. She loves to look at pictures and videos so I think she will like it. :)

We ended up going home and taking a nap. I think I was in the heat for too long and didn't have enough water. I always get heat exhaust or something when I'm in the sun for very long. The kids ended up convincing me to take them back to Enchanted Island and I convinced Jeremy to come too. We went pretty late at 7:30pm. I thought by then the sun would be down so it should feel cooler. It ended up being awesome! It was such a relaxing atmosphere they had string lights all over and fun music. The kids went on most of the rides several times and Jeremy and I watched from the bench. I did go on the parachute ride with Kylie tons of times. She convinced Jeremy to go with her once and he teased her that he was scared and she still thinks he was really scared. We ended the night with a family ride on the train. It was a really fun family night!
