Week 22
Monday was Memorial Day. Jeremy and Blake came home from camping and Kylie and I hung out in the morning. Kylie and I started the morning by going to breakfast. Kylie was very patient and we played games while we waited for the food. She almost ate all her food which was awesome! Next, Kylie and I went to Michaels. We were on the hunt for fun crafts for her and Blake to keep them busy this summer. Kylie didn't have a problem finding lots of crafts. :)
We ended the night with a family game of bowling and arcade games. We all had fun. Kylie is probably the worlds slowest bowler but she has fun. We all had fun playing arcade games. A really nice couple ended up giving Kylie all their tickets which was close to 1,000.
Tuesday night was a super exciting night. We ended up getting dugout tickets to the Diamondbacks game! I have watched every single diamondbacks game for at least the past 6 weeks and I have been really wanting to go to a game. We headed to the game as early as we could because we wanted to walk around before the game started. We had valet parking so we were able to drive up and jump out right at the door. We found our seats and dropped off our stuff. Next, we head to the top floor to check out the kids area. Sadly, the kids playground is closed but the sandlot was open. Blake did amazing and Kylie had no clue what to do. It was really funny to watch her but they both had fun.
We headed back to our seats and grabbed some corn dogs and hot dogs on our way. We made it just in time for the 1st pitch. Kylie hung out on my lap for the first few innings. I had fun trying to talk to her about the game. She was easily distracted though. Everyone around us loved her. There was a really nice couple in front of us and they just adored her. I'm always worried that her constantly talking will bother the people around us so it's always relaxing when they engage with her.
Around the third inning, Jeremy and the kids ventured back up to the kids area. They found Baxter and played in the sandlot again. It was fun to get to relax and watch the game while they were gone.
The second half of the game was so much fun! Blake danced in the walk way and ended up getting on the big screen. He froze when it happened but then started dancing again. Kylie got really shy and wouldn't move. haha!
Kylie had a really awesome moment. Randomly one of the members of the diamondbacks team was waving at Kylie and I to get our attention and asked if they could give Kylie a ball. I sent her over to him and he rolled the ball over the dug out to her. She was SO excited and it was so sweet of them to do that. She was one of their biggest cheerleaders for the night. She always had to clap or cheer when everyone else was. Sometimes she was even the one starting the cheer!
Kylie became friends with Baxter! She called him her little cutie. haha! As the game became really close Baxter joined our area and Kylie ended up getting a few high fives, fist bumps and a picture with him. It made her night!
Around the 8th inning it was pretty late so we pulled out the tablets and the kids watched a few shows while we watched the rest of the game. Kylie would still pause and clap or cheer. The diamondbacks were down by 1 going into the bottom of the 9th inning. I saw the line up and there was a pretty good chance that we were going to lose in my mind. We had two outs and someone on second and first base. We were all screaming and cheering and the batter ended up hitting and we tied up the game. It was so exciting to be there in person for that moment. We were all screaming and high fiving everyone. It was so fun to be around other fans and get so excited! We ended up going into the 10th inning and we won in the bottom of the 10th. It was so exciting and the kids were so excited! Overall, the kids were amazing! I was nervous they were going to be too tired or bored and we would have to leave early but they surpassed by expectations by a mile. We all got along and had SO much fun! We will remember this night forever.
On Wednesday night I skimmed through the game to show the kids that they were on TV. It was fun to watch the exciting moments again and get to see our reaction on the TV. Blake thought it was SO cool to see himself on the TV.
Blake had a weekday night swim lesson this week. He did amazing and his coach said she looks like he is ready to move on but she didn't have someone that could test him. It's been so fun to watch him work so hard at improving and move to the next levels. It was also fun to have some 1 on 1 time with him. He is a funny kid but you have to have 1 on 1 time with him to really see his fun personality.
On Friday, Blake and I went bowling at lunch time. There was a birthday party going on at the same time so it was pretty crowded and crazy busy. We ended up playing two games quickly. Blake didn't use a ramp and learned to throw the ball. He did really well but was competitive and wanted to win. We played a quick game of air hockey and a few arcade games before we headed home.
The kids had swim lessons this weekend. Blake ended up being able to be tested for level 5. He did amazing and graduated to the level 5 class. I was so excited for him. Kylie did really good at her lessons too. She is still not wanting to jump in but she does really good with the other exercises.
The kids went swimming a few times over the weekend. It's been nice to sit out by the pool and watch them but not have to get in. Blake I feel comfortable with him swimming without me in the pool but Kylie I prefer to wear her floaties so I can relax and not have to watch like a hawk. They had so much fun jumping in and Blake played the shark game with Kylie which she wasn't a fan of. haha!
