Week 13 - 2021
We had a fun filled busy week. Blake lost a tooth at school! It had been really loose for a few days but I couldn't get it out. He decided he wanted to wait for the dentist to see it on Tuesday. Then, Tuesday morning I received a text from the school saying Blake lost a tooth. He was so excited because the nurse gave him a tooth necklace to store the tooth in. Blake and Kylie both did really good at the dentist. Kylie was so brave and received a glowing review from the dentist.
On Friday night we went to Avondale where our rental properties are located and where we used to live. We tend to go back to Avondale area for events and holidays. I signed us up for an Easter Egg Hunt at one of the city parks. We grabbed some dinner and ate at the park. The kids had fun playing on the playground for a bit. The Easter Egg Hunt was set up where each family was assigned a time slot and they had 20 minutes to take pictures with the Easter bunny, hunt for eggs and grab a goodie bag. The Hunt was a specific area for just your family to grab all the eggs in your specific area. The kids had so much fun and were excited to see the Easter bunny!
After, we stopped at a new crepe place and tried them out. They were really good! The kids ordered waffles with Nutella and fruit on top and it was delicious. Jeremy and I had crepes and they were yummy as well but the waffles were another level! We had a lot of fun together and being goofy while waiting for the food.
Saturday morning we got up early and went to Scottsdale for a family electric scooter ride. We recently purchased two scooters for Jeremy and I and we wanted to try them out. Kylie rode on Jeremys scooter and was screaming the entire time. She jumped off at one point and hurt her knees. She refused to get back on so we pulled over and Jeremy came and picked us up. She decided to give it one last chance since we were almost to the breakfast area. She screamed a little but did better. Sadly, it took us so long due to Kylie that by the time we arrived at the restaurants they weren't serving breakfast anymore. We scootered back to the car and ended up going to Kneaders. The kids and I love the French toast and Jeremy loves the breakfast sandwiches.
The kids had swim lessons in the afternoon. It was their first swim lesson this year and they both did pretty good. The lesson goes by so quick so it feels like it will take awhile to make progress but we will see.
We went home and went in the pool for the first time this year. It was pretty cold and the kids didn't mind too much but when we tried to practice what they did in class they were too cold. I think having to get their heads wet made it too cold. They also seemed to push back more with me then they did in class. I think for now we will leave it to class and just having fun in the pool at home. I'm the type of person that once I get my mind set on something I want to accomplish it right away and I'm working on not always doing that and just relaxing and enjoying the slower process on some things.
Easter morning the kids found their Easter baskets. It was a pretty chill day at home. We did a Easter Egg Hunt in the backyard in the afternoon. It's our tradition for Jeremy to hide the eggs and then the kids and I find them. He is really good at hiding the eggs in super tough places. We also went in the pool again. It was just as cold as Saturday but once your in it's not as bad.
Kylie insisted on making cupcakes Sunday night so I let her help me! She loves to watch me bake which doesn't happen very often. :)
