Week 26
This week was super busy. The week started with Blake telling me his throat hurt really late at night and I did a strep test and it came back positive. Jeremy and I both had full days of meetings the next day so we tried out the virtual doctor appointment for the first time. The experience was ok. It was nice to be able to have an appointment so late at night which we wouldn't have been able to do otherwise. The next morning we picked up his medicine and we were good to go.
The following night Blake and Kylie had swim lessons and then the following morning Blake headed to Utah with Jeremy's parents. Blake had so much fun with them and really enjoyed the one on one time. They went on a razor ride, had Mexican food, burgers, and pizza! It was so nice to not have to worry about him and just focus on work but I sure missed him.
On Friday, Jeremy, Kylie and I headed to the cabin to celebrate the 4th of July. This has been our tradition since before the kids were born so it's something that we hope to continue for a long time. We always stop at chick fil a when we head to the cabin so we had to continue the tradition. Even better we stepped foot inside of a chic fil a for the 1st time since the pandemic. We had to take a picture to document the memory! :)
Saturday morning we started the day early by heading to Panguish for the pancake breakfast and then went to the parade. We love the small town parades so we went to a few this year. The breakfast was really good! The kids were awesome and ate a few pancakes.
Grandma and Grandpa joined us for the parade. The parade was short but it was perfect for the heat. The kids loved the horses and the candy.
After, Jeremy and I went on a razor ride with his cousin and friends. It was a fun ride and pretty views.
The night started with the Duck Creek parade. This is one of our favorite traditions! It was very crowded this year but we were able to find our own little spot. The parade was awesome and didn't disappoint. The kids each had a big bag full of candy by the end.
We ended the night with going to Alton for fireworks. Typically we don't see fireworks for the 4th because they either were restricted or they were so late that it was too hard with the kids. The fireworks were awesome and the kids really enjoyed them. They were scared at moments but I think that was because we were so close. Overall, it was an awesome show for such a small town and not having to reserve a spot in advance.
On Sunday, our main activity was going on a long razor ride with the kids and friends. The kids ended up falling asleep which they always do in the razor. I have no idea why it puts them to sleep but they almost always fall asleep. It was a fun ride and again amazing views.
We also played a good amount of corn hole. Jeremy was always challenging everyone to a game.
